International PI Day

A school recently held an unusual celebration dedicated to the number pi (π), which sought to encourage learners’ mathematical curiosity and develop 21st-century skills. The learners prepared for the event by decorating the kindergarten and school with pi symbols, creating colorful posters and drawings representing this important mathematical number. They also made pi cookies, which were displayed during the event.

The event participants organized math competitions to correctly calculate pi approximations and solve geometric problems. During a special exhibition, the children presented their works – drawings, writings, and a number dictionary – showing the history of pi.

The event emphasized learners’ independence, cooperation, and the importance of research. The learners not only developed their mathematical knowledge, but also acquired important time management, responsibility, and teamwork skills by participating with willingness and enthusiasm.
