Career Week: "Our PLLs Right for Today and Ready for Tomorrow"

At the heart of our educational mission lies the commitment to fostering inclusivity, trustworthiness, and motivated thinking. This year’s Career Week served as a transdisciplinary bridge, connecting classroom inquiry with the dynamic world of professional possibilities.

Empowering Agency through Authentic Inquiry By providing our Personal Language Learners (PLLs) with authentic opportunities to explore real-world professions, we cultivate an environment where student-initiated inquiry thrives. Through interactive workshops, guest speakers, and role-play simulations, students engaged in meaningful action. These experiences empower them to visualize themselves as capable contributors to a global society.

Linking Learning to Life This initiative reinforces our mission to nurture principled and open-minded learners. By linking academic pathways to real-life careers, PLLs developed critical ATL skills:

  • Research & Thinking: Analyzing future trends and professional requirements.

  • Communication: Engaging with role models and peers in professional contexts.

  • Self-Management: Reflecting on personal aspirations and setting purposeful goals.

Through this experience, we ensure our learners are not only thriving in their current environment but are truly prepared to navigate the complexities of the future.

The event reflected several key attributes of the IB Learner Profile:

  • Communicators – Express ideas confidently and creatively in multiple languages and through various modes of communication; collaborate effectively, listening carefully to the perspectives of other individuals and groups.
  • Inquirers – Nurture curiosity and develop skills for inquiry and research, fostering a lifelong love of learning.
  • Knowledgeable – Explore concepts, ideas, and issues across a range of disciplines, engaging with significant local and global topics.
  • Reflective – Thoughtfully consider the world and their own ideas and experience; work to understand their strengths and weaknesses in order to support their learning and personal development.
  • Open-Minded – Appreciate their own cultures and personal histories, as well as the values and traditions of others; seek and evaluate a range of points of view, and are willing to grow from the experience.
