Thanksgiving Day Celebration at the European School

On November 27, the European School community gathered for its annual Thankfulness Day, a meaningful celebration dedicated to gratitude, family connections, and the important role grandparents and parents play in the lives of our PLLs. The event created a warm, reflective atmosphere where appreciation and emotional expression took center stage.

Fourth-grade learners shared poems, musical performances, and heartfelt messages, demonstrating not only creativity and artistic skill but also emotional awareness and empathy. Their presentations highlighted essential IB Learner Profile attributes, including:

  • Caring – expressing love, appreciation, and respect toward family members;
  • Communicator – conveying feelings clearly through spoken word, writing, and music;
  • Balanced – recognizing the importance of emotional well-being and strong relationships;
  • Open-minded – valuing diverse family experiences and perspectives.

The celebration also contributed to the development of social-emotional ATL skills, encouraging learners to recognize gratitude as a meaningful practice that strengthens community bonds.

The event was a beautiful reminder of the significance of acknowledging the people and experiences that shape our journeys. We extend our sincere appreciation to all families and guests who joined us in honoring this special day and supporting our learners’ growth.
